316

Thermal spray powders

316

316 stainless powder for HVOF or thermal spray coatings where Fe-Cr-Ni-Mo corrosion resistance and stainless surface restoration are required.

Fe-Cr-Ni-Mo system provides good corrosion resistance

Suitable for stainless surface restoration

Easier to finish after coating than carbide systems

Product description

The 316 powder is an austenitic Fe-Cr-Ni-Mo stainless alloy, produced by Huayin through gas atomization for a spherical morphology and stable flow. Sprayed by HVOF, it forms an Fe-Cr-Ni-Mo layer with general corrosion resistance, suiting surfaces that need to resist mild chemicals and humidity without the hardness of a carbide system.

Because it is easier to finish-machine than carbide, 316 is often used to restore stainless surfaces, pump casings, shafts and equipment in the chemical, paper and food industries. The molybdenum content improves pitting resistance in chloride environments. Spray parameters and coating thickness should be set according to each component's requirement.

Used for stainless parts, pump casings, shafts, chemical, paper and food equipment where corrosion protection is needed without very hard carbide coatings.
