The PTA version of Ste6 is a cobalt-chrome-tungsten alloy (equivalent to Stellite 6) supplied by Huayin for plasma-transferred-arc hardfacing. Chromium carbides in the cobalt matrix give metal-to-metal wear and galling resistance and retain hardness at high temperature, key properties for valve seats and heavy-duty parts.
PTA welding allows thick, robust cobalt overlays in one or more passes, suiting valve seats, agitator blades, screw conveyors, sliding surfaces and cutters in industrial maintenance. Plasma parameters and powder feed must be set for the required thickness and dilution; CQ distributes Huayin powder with process advice.
